About Amy

In 1997, I graduated from Tufts University in Medford, MA with an undergraduate degree in clinical psychology.  During college, I volunteered on the university’s peer hotline and in a domestic violence shelter.  In 1999, I graduated from Smith College in Northampton, MA with a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work.

I have been a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Delaware since 2002, and have worked in a variety of outpatient and intensive outpatient mental health settings.  After having two children and recognizing the unique challenges of the transition to parenthood, I decided to focus my career on helping other moms.   I earned certificates in the treatment of perinatal mood disorders from Postpartum Support International and the Postpartum Stress Center and opened my private practice in 2011.  I utilize interventions based on positive neuroplasticty, parts work, and EMDR.  I have a special interest in how mindfulness skills can be used to deal with the stresses of parenthood, and never underestimate the power of laughter, pets, and the great outdoors.

In 2018, I helped to found the Delaware Chapter of Postpartum Support International.  In my first three years, I served as Secretary and for the last two years have served as the chapter's Chair.  In my tenure, I have started a chapter Listserv for providers, a chapter newsletter for perinatal community in DE, and a Meet & Greet to engage participation in the chapter.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to do work that is meaningful to me.  I feel honored to be part of the healing process with the women who share their stories with me.
